First test of a new imaging set up comprising my CMOS single shot colour camera with a DSLR wide angle lens (no telescope). The connecting adapter includes a filter drawer into which I placed a dual narrowband filter and ran a series of 15 or 30sec tracked exposures and calibration frames. Processed in APP and PS.

I set up my GoPro to try and capture the peak of the Lyrid Meteor Shower. As you can see, there wasn’t much meteor action, but this nice star trail resulted.

It was taken on 13th April 2020 during the global Coronavirus pandemic, resulting in far fewer planes going overhead.

The Pointers (Hadar & Rigil Kentaurus) above the central silhouetted tree pick out the Crux - The Southern Cross and the Coal Sack. The Eta Carinae Nebula is the pinky cloud top left. NGC 3114 sits above it and NGC3532 below.
